Certified Academic Language Therapist- Part Time

Do the work you were trained to do. Build a practice you’re proud of, and help bring Hoover to your community.

Hoover Learning Group is expanding into new markets, and we’re looking for Certified Academic Language Therapists (CALTs), or therapists currently enrolled in and progressing through CALT training, to help launch in-person Hoover practices in communities across the United States.

Families everywhere are looking for high-quality, individualized dyslexia therapy, and in many communities it’s hard to find. As Hoover grows, we want experienced, passionate therapists who can be our first presence in a new market. You’ll build relationships with local families and schools and grow a meaningful caseload, with the training, systems, and support of an established organization behind you.

This is a chance to get in early: help shape how Hoover serves a new community and grow with us as that market develops.

Both full-time and part-time opportunities are available.

Why Hoover?

  • Help launch Hoover in a new market. Be among the first Hoover therapists in your community and help build something lasting.

  • Grow with an established model. Hoover has proven demand for its services, and we bring the systems, curriculum, and support that come with it.

  • Work one-on-one with students, in person. Focus on individualized intervention and see progress firsthand.

  • Make a life-changing impact. Help students with dyslexia build the skills and confidence to become more capable, independent learners, and change the trajectory of their education.

  • Be part of a broader professional team. Collaborate with Hoover therapists and leadership across our organization, even as you work locally.

  • Build your practice within Hoover. Develop a consistent caseload and strong relationships with local families.

  • Continue growing professionally. Hoover supports professional development and continued CALT certification work.

  • Have a voice as we grow. We value therapists who bring ideas, take ownership, and help shape how Hoover serves new communities.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide in-person, individualized dyslexia therapy and structured literacy intervention, including use of the Take Flight curriculum as appropriate.

  • Work consistently with students and monitor their progress.

  • Communicate regularly with parents and families.

  • Collaborate with Hoover therapists, teachers, schools, and other professionals supporting the student.

  • Help build Hoover’s presence in your community through relationships with families, schools, and local partners.

  • Maintain appropriate session and progress documentation.

  • Participate in professional development and Hoover team activities.

  • Contribute ideas for improving student outcomes and the Hoover experience.

What We’re Looking For

  • Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT) or currently enrolled in an established CALT training program.

  • Commitment to evidence-based structured literacy intervention.

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and community partners.

  • Flexibility to accommodate student scheduling needs.

  • Ability to work in person in your local community.

We Especially Value Candidates Who Are:

  • Enthusiastic and engaging with students.

  • Professional and dependable.

  • Entrepreneurial, proactive, and excited to help grow something new.

  • Adaptable and solution-oriented.

  • Collaborative while also comfortable taking ownership of their work.

  • Committed to continuous improvement.

Schedule

We’re hiring for both full-time and part-time positions. Full-time therapists may build a substantial Hoover caseload, while part-time therapists may keep a consistent schedule alongside other professional or personal commitments.

Afternoon and early-evening availability is especially valuable because many of our students attend school during the day.

Compensation & Benefits

Hoover offers competitive compensation based on credentials, experience, schedule, and employment structure. Depending on the role and candidate, compensation may be salaried, hourly, or structured on another mutually agreed basis.

Full-time positions may include health insurance, paid time off and holidays, professional development assistance, professional dues reimbursement, work-related travel reimbursement, and support for continued CALT training and certification, where applicable.
