Certified Academic Language Therapist- Part Time
Do the work you were trained to do. Build a practice you’re proud of — from anywhere in the US.
Hoover Learning Group is growing, and we’re looking for a Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT), or a therapist currently enrolled in and progressing through CALT training, to join our team in a fully virtual role open anywhere in the United States.
Families across the country are seeking out Hoover for individualized dyslexia therapy. That demand gives the right CALT or CALT-in-training the chance to join a growing practice with established support and room to build a meaningful caseload, all from home.
You’ll work with experienced Hoover therapists and help more families get high-quality, individualized dyslexia therapy, wherever they live.
Both full-time and part-time opportunities are available.
Why Hoover?
Work from anywhere in the US. Deliver therapy virtually from a home setup that works for you, with no commute.
Join a practice with demonstrated demand. Families are actively seeking Hoover’s services, and we keep growing.
Work one-on-one with students. Focus on individualized intervention and see progress firsthand.
Make a life-changing impact. Help students with dyslexia build the skills and confidence to become more capable, independent learners, and change the trajectory of their education.
Be part of a broader professional team. Collaborate virtually with Hoover therapists and leadership across our organization.
Build your practice within Hoover. Develop a consistent caseload and strong relationships with families.
Continue growing professionally. Hoover supports professional development and continued CALT certification work.
Have a voice as we grow. We value therapists who bring ideas, take ownership, and help us keep improving the experience we provide students and families.
What You’ll Do
Provide individualized dyslexia therapy and structured literacy intervention through live virtual sessions, including use of the Take Flight curriculum as appropriate.
Work consistently with students and monitor their progress.
Communicate regularly with parents and families by video, phone, and email.
Collaborate with Hoover therapists, teachers, and other professionals supporting the student.
Maintain appropriate session and progress documentation.
Participate in virtual professional development and Hoover team activities.
Contribute ideas for improving student outcomes and the Hoover experience.

Comfort delivering engaging, interactive instruction online.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to build positive relationships with students and families in a virtual setting.
Flexibility to accommodate student scheduling needs.
Reliable high-speed internet, a computer with a webcam, and a quiet, private workspace suitable for therapy sessions.
Based in and authorized to work in the United States.
We Especially Value Candidates Who Are:
Enthusiastic and engaging with students, including through a screen.
Professional and dependable.
Proactive, adaptable, and solution-oriented.
Collaborative while also comfortable taking ownership of their work.
Self-directed and organized when working remotely.

Schedule
We’re hiring for both full-time and part-time positions. Full-time therapists may build a substantial Hoover caseload, while part-time therapists may keep a consistent schedule alongside other professional or personal commitments.
Afternoon and early-evening availability is especially valuable because many of our students attend school during the day. Students may be in different time zones, so flexibility across time zones is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
Hoover offers competitive compensation based on credentials, experience, schedule, and employment structure. Depending on the role and candidate, compensation may be salaried, hourly, or structured on another mutually agreed basis.
Full-time positions may include health insurance, paid time off and holidays, professional development assistance, professional dues reimbursement, and support for continued CALT training and certification, where applicable.
